This first wave of toys features the Tracy brothers and The Hood action figures, A set of smaller Thunderbird vehicles for the interactive Tracy Island, and a supersize Thunderbird 2.
This is the 4-piece vehicle superset for folk who what all the smaller vehicles rather than buy them separately.
Personally, I think all they look great but Thunderbird 2 is the favourite. Like it's sixties counterpart it has a removable pod which contains Thunderbird 4.
Although the Thunderbird 4 model is a lot bigger than the the Matchbox, Dinky or Corgi sixties versions, even though the scale looks similar.
All the models have engine or voice sounds which are operated from discrete buttons on the toys,
Thunderbird 1 have swing wings which come out when the rear thruster is twisted.
Thunderbird 3 has grasping arms whiich fold out when the engine nozzle at the base is pushed.
As a set, the do look good. There'll be disappointment from some that Thunderbird 5 hasn't been included but this is early days, so we see one appear as new toys, like Fab 1 or Thunderbird S are released.
Next time - The Supersize Thunderbird 2
Cool looking toys Scoop. They look great in the sunshine! Its amazing to think that these toys originate from something we watched nearly 50 years ago!
ReplyDeleteHardly anything where I live. Toysrus has a couple of the large TB2 and a handful of figures. Nothing in any of the other toy stores yet. :(
ReplyDeleteAh ah! Found them in The Entertainer in Leeds this lunchtime.
ReplyDeleteNice one Yorkie. I picked mine up at The Entertainer at Southport.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of the Entertainer. Is it a new toy shop chain guys?
DeletePretty recent I believe. Much smaller than ToysRUs. We have a ToysRUs and a Smyths but they seem to be a bit slow getting the new Thunderbirds. I noticed Tesco advertising them on their website too but they don't have them in either. Mind you they've only been out a few days.
DeleteI'll have to check 'em out next time I'm in Leeds. Where are they Yorkie?
DeleteThe Entertainer is upstairs in the new Trinity shopping centre near the train station. The Thunderbirds toys are near the counter.
DeleteCheers Yorkie!
DeleteJust opened the TAG DVD for eps 1-13 and inside there's a cool 2-sided brochure promoting the toy range. Prepare for FAB sales!
