Almost a blog legend, this is another old chestnut from Dennis Nicholson's superb Anderson Memorabilia Book. Part of the tantalisingly cool Knockoffs section, this is the Emergency Squad 6WD bootleg of the UFO SHADO 2 Mobile. The two packaged examples above featured on Ebay several years ago.
Reader John Ward recently sent me these cool pics of his own loose grey Emergency Squad showing the rear opening.
A ramp can be pulled out of the back hatch.
The smaller craft, which can be brought out for trickier operations, looks rather neat. Does anyone know its origin?
John also sent me pics of his other multi-wheeled toys and here they are:

Hi, I just found some of these packaged Emergency Squad vehicles in our loft. Your blog is the only reference that I can find to them. Do you know how old they are? Should I be wrapping the box back up and hanging on to them?
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, nice find. I'm unsure time and age will add anything to their collectability. They are bootlegs or knockoffs of the SHADO 2 which featured in Gerry Anderson's TV series in the 1970's and as such might already appeal to fans of the show and the SHADO 2. I can't comment on value but a search of Ebay's sold listings might give you an idea if any have sold of late and for how much. Best Wishes, Woodsy PS. I think they are from the 1980's.

ReplyDeleteI meant to say the TV series was called UFO Sharon.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your response, my first thought was to take them to the local charity shop, but the as they were in the original packaging I wondered if they had been hidden away in the hope they'd increase in value. Thank you for your help.
