Checking my photo archive here's another bag of LP astronauts called Lunar Spacemen. Usually proper header carded bags like this contain the MPC line of astronauts so this is unusual.
And I've found these snaps of LP's boxed. I think this window box with just four of the gang is so cool. Note the rear art, which was also used on Waddington's Blast-Off board game.
Here's the same boxed set only this time issued by Clifford Toys. It appears to have a model number next to the Company name.
The rear of the box is shown below [thanks for the heads up Mr. Vreede!]
One mystery still remains in my archive. In 2008 I blogged this rear box art stating that it was the back of a box of LP-type astronauts. Stupidly I didn't save the photo of the front of the box so I don't know which ones they were. Does anyone have this box of spacemen?
The artwork looks to me like an amalgam of work by the American great Bob McCall. Maybe bits of these two? Your ideas welcomed readers.
The box art of the Clifford-branded astronauts is identical to the original LP packaging, only the trademarks and box numbers are different (I have a Clifford set, and Andrew Cook sent me pice of his LP set). The rear of the boxes does not have that McCall-based illustration, but rather an illustration of some goldfish bowl-helmeted spacemen with underneath four pictures of Matt Mason accessories stolen straight from Mattel packs or catalogues. I do believe you've had that on the blog but can't seem to find it straightaway. Lmk if you want a pic?

Thanks for the reminder Paul. I've posted that rear picture on the bloglet. Cheers.
