Got the afternoon off so I'm basking in chillsville. Just browsing my old pics archive and here's a few miscellaneous snaps of Japanese mecha I've found online ages ago.
When I saw this I thought it was the original sketch for Thunberbird 7/ Project SWORD Beetle by Shigeru Komatsuzaki, but I doubt it after reading the blurb. I think its fan art. Have a gander in English here.
Not sure I've seen this version of the Midori Super Beetle before. the design was picked up by Century 21 for there super rare Lunar Climber toy, which at least one lucky reader has that I know about. I love the red-helmeted astronauts, which I feel give this box art a very SWORDesque look. You can read about this and many of the other BEETLE kits here at ISF Mecha Contest. You can see the Midori kit contenets over at Vintage Plamo.
Re the top picture: the camouflaged missile is a German V-2, possibly the kit by Eidai/Grip. The model boxes at the centre and the two kits at very front are the same product, the white tracked vehicle with trailer and the orange one with missiles were produced c.1970 I think by Tamiya. They were sold in England too.
