Reader Jim Potter has alerted me to the cool website CEREAL OFFERS. Its devoted to all those cool plastic premiums issued with breakfast cereals over the years. Jim spotted this one in particular:
Found this/thought you'd like it: Cereal Offers Sugar Smacks SPV. Not mine (alas). Interesting that it's so accurate, but with an undersized front 'bumper'.
cheers
Jim
Woodsy again: they have lots of fascinating stuff listed and illustrated, including those neat R&L Space Age models including the MOLAB.
Its a cool site for sure and a labour of love. If you like breakfast premium mysteries check out their HELP WANTED page.
What are/ were your fave breakfast toys and cereals readers?
I just want some cream!
ReplyDeleteI remember Kellogg's having a series of lovely little airliners back in the early 70s in Holland. With cut-out buildings printed on the back of the packs iirc. Can't recall what the others were, but I ought to still have the Fokker Friendship from that series, which I painted up in RNAF colours at the time.
ReplyDeleteDuring second youth, the Jurassic Park premiums (with Nestlé cereals) stand out when the boys were into dinosaurs. And even more Lego Bionicle premiums (also with Nestlé), because I collected that as well (with the boys as an excuse :) and where on one memorable occasion a phonecall to their sales manager resulted in a bonanza of premium figures (half of which then crossed the channel to Bill).
Happy days!
Cheers -- Paul
Still treasure them Paul!
DeleteHad a look round, and there's the series of airplanes:

Great Paul! Jim'll be chuffed the site's of interest. Those are a neat set of aircraft. And that phone call sounds excellent. I once wrote to Cineworld for my daugheter [and me] and got tons of Phantom Manace stuff through the post! ha ha.
