Some initial personal views on the latest TAG episode without giving too much away for those who haven't seen it yet.
First off, to pinch a line from this week's episode' this ain't no Thunderbird', and that for me sums it up. While there is an element of suspense , (and comedy there's no traditional Thunderbird rescue in this episode. As the title suggests it does feature Thunderbird 3, but the episode really belongs to Lady Penelope and that 'Ninja Grey', Parker, oh, and Sherbet the Pug who gets in on the act .
Again, John in Thunderbird 5 is still running things which Scott is apparently on another rescue mission, and I'm still finding in difficult to accept Brains' Indian accent.
Oh, and in 2060 the space around Earth has more traffic than the M25 at rush hour.
IMO Definitely one for the younger viewer who has grown up on Japanese cartoons and video games.
Oops, I've crossed wires Scoop. I was waiting for your review! ha ha. I enjoyed this one more than the first two. It seemed less hectic. Did you enjoy it?
ReplyDeleteAfraid I took one look at those computer generated figures and it put me off!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Andy. I'm old school too. As long as I ignore how young the Tracies are and the adolescent pratting around I have started to really enjoy the show. Like the first time round in the Sixties, its the vehicles that do it for me. I loved the emphasis on space in this episode and I could have even imagined a few Project SWORD vehicles up there with TB3! ha ha
ReplyDeleteWhile it's fair to say some have simply described this morning's episode as 'brilliant', some of the bolder opinions expressed on social media give this episode a thumbs down with reasonable critique to justify their claims. I think this is one which has appeared to divided opinions, although, to be fair it's not put folk off tuning in in the future.
ReplyDeleteUnsurprisingly, people have already begun talking about next week's episode ' Cross Cut' which feature will feature a certain popular pod vehicle - but will we have a 'proper' rescue next time, or have this new batch of writers lost the plot!
