Last year I spotted this Tarheel SWORD Moon Prospector at Doncaster Toy Fair. Lo and behold later in the year it appeared in the UK toy collecting newspaper, Collectors' Gazette. You can see it pictured above in the bottom right shot. Its sat next to to its British stablemate, the Century 21 SWORD Dyna Soar.
This random photography of a Moon Prospector does have form. It appeared in the old die-cast magazine Model Auto Review in 2005, having been found at a car boot sale and photographed by Peter Paine [below, front magazine]. I followed this up five years later with an expanded article in the same magazine [below, rear magazine].
Why are Prospectors so often found at fairs and sales and thus photographed most often? Were they the most commonly sold of all Project SWORD toys and more of them have survived than any other? What do you think readers and have you any random shots of Prospectors like this or indeed any SWORD or SpaceX toys?
