The Nuclear Ferry front ship, which I call the cab, is a beautifully sleek craft. Robert McCall gave us our first artist's impression [top pic], from which Century 21 made perhaps the best looking space toy of the 1960's [pic six]
Subsequent artists like Mike Noble [third pic] and Klaus Buergle [second pic] made their Ferry cabs even sleeker. Spacex gave us a streamlined toy cab in 1970 [fifth pic] but perhaps the sleekest toy is the rare Rocket Firing Space Car by Telsada [pic four], which reminds me of Mike Noble's ship [pic three]. I would love to see some pictures of the actual toy readers if anyone has one?
More toy cabs came later although not as perfectly formed in my humble opinion. Mattel-Matchbox brought out a nice X33 [pic seven], which Wotan made into a cool Nuclear Ferry from some years back and the huge Crusader appeared as part of the GI Joe line [pic eight].
Have you any Nuclear Ferry - like cabs readers, pictures, models or otherwise?
I never thought of it before, but all of a sudden I'm reminded of John Crichton's Farscape One craft from one of my favorite television series, called for some reason Farscape:
