After signing up to the Gerry Anderson Vintage Comic Collection I was finally sent a package containing five issues from Eaglemoss.
Issue 5 contained a small note in the inside pages. It thanked me for my support but was unfortunately suspending publication until further notice.Eaglemoss did, however hope to resume publication at a later date.
Well to be honest I can't say I'm surprised. It wasn't nationally advertised and appeared to be only available in newsagents in a few selected (test ) areas or through subscription. I suspect it was simply a marketing exercise to test the waters.
I do have to say that the copies I received were of excellent quality and although they do contain reprinted material the reproduction on the glossy paper is very good and perfect for anyone who wants to have complete hard copy strip stories from not only TV21 but also the several other comics that carried Gerry Anderson strips.
I do hope Eaglemoss continue publication, particularly as issue 6 would be featuring one of my favourites, Fireball XL5.
Watch this space.
Maybe when the new Thunderbirds are Go series comes out next year they'll issue the magazine again. I understand they didn't actually release any of the diecast models that were advertised to subscribers too.
ReplyDeleteScoop, I have been meaning to ask - are you still getting Eaglemoss Batman vehicles or has that series dried out?
