I worked with computers in the 1980's but never sent an email. I'm not sure when it was invented. The first PC I had with email and internet access was around 1995 I think. For the life of me I can't recall what my first email was about and to whom!
When did you send your first email readers?
Mine was probably "dear mr woods, do you collect Spacex"
ReplyDeleteNice question, I cannot remember which was my first email, but I can remember which one did I receive first. It was from a friend, and it included some picture of BMX acrobatics.
ReplyDeleteour first computer was actually given to us by a friend who was in the computer business about the same time as you 1995. i think it had a whopping 45mb hardrive! i was constantly saving things to floppy discs and then deleting them off the computer. anywho, it would've been this same time frame when we sent our first e-mail. and our first e-mail provider was wal-mart!!
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting thing isn't it, Email. Like you both say Gog and Ed. Hard to imagine life without it now. My first email account was with AOL and then Freeserve, whom I've been with since around 2000. I often wonder what it was like on those early internet and email groups which covered Gerry Anderson and Model making. I think they started in the 1980's! Blimey. I didn't have a computer then, though I worked on one at work. I was sad to hear that the chap who pioneered the mouse and predicted email has died, Douglas Engelbart.
