I recently picked up a complete K-1 Robot made up as a collect and build from the Doctor Who classic series of poseable figures.
The Robot came in eight sections along with a separate accessory. All you had to do was collect each piece from these classic Who action figures - The Zygon had the head. Hips, left arm and torso came with the forth, fifth and sixth doctors. Sea Devil, the mid torso. Magnus Greel and Mr Sin, the right arm and disintegrator gun, and finally two robots from Robots of Death, SV7 and D84 carried the left and right legs.
I have to say it’s pretty good. Like the rest of the series it’s fully poesable and, as I said comes with a disintegrator gun as an accessory.
I always had a soft spot for the K-1, or The Giant Robot as it's also known, principally because that story introduced my favourite Doctor, Tom Baker.
Here’s the Doctor driving Bessie past the Robot after throwing the metal eating virus at it.
The Doctor getting away as the failing Robot attempts to grab Bessie.
"I'm having a bit of trouble with my prime directive. Are you an enemy of the human race?"
Excellent photos, as ever. The robot prop survives and the BBC exhibit it.

ReplyDeleteWow, didn't know it was still around, Kevin. Not bad for something nearly 40 years old, eh.
ReplyDeleteIt must have been cumbersome for actor, Michael Kilgarriff to move about in, though.
