Continuing the current Apollo thread, here are a few sets and items from various sets in my photo archive in the style of Apollo Moon Exploring. Part of this post appeared back in 2009 and the subject has been popular ever since the blog started in September 2008 [ use Search to find more]. Any more pictures of variants or sets welcomed.

WOW! What a LOT of cool stuff the past couple of days! If a certain toy gets delivered this week I hope to do a blog on my (v-e-r-y tenuos) connection to Apollo 13 which splashed down 42 yrs ago yesterday.
ReplyDeleteAlready enjoying your coverage of these tiny-shiny beauties and now pretty much hypnotized by those diorama window boxes. Great/atmospheric artwork on those backdrops all tied together by those bits of alien terrain. I know for certain that shag carpet, our family vacume-cleaner and the bathtub drain swallowed some of my Golden Astronauts.
ReplyDeleteI agree with CS, I love those diorama window boxes. Really set the toys up and a great aid to a kids imagination.
ReplyDeletei reckon the third set down with 'mike' watermarked across is, isnt a real set. the orange missile is a cap bomb that looks like its been hastily inserted into the set and the red scooter on the bottom is a lucky bag toy made of soft plastic, they used to be be made with a smll mini sub with the same small diver seated on them too. i think these toys have been put in to make it look like a full set.
