My fascination for small plastic spacemen in the LP style stems from playing for hours with my golden astronauts [I may need to re-phrase that!]. The fact that similar figures may have been included in the fabled SWORD Moon Base Set simply adds to their allure. Not surprisingly the figures turn up on the blog from time to time and today is one of them!
So Swordies, above is a collage of goodies from recent zooms round cyberspace and raids on my archive. From top left to right: Cape Kennedy Astronauts, re-cast MPC radar station, Space Explorer [Argentinian - but what's the backing card art like without the figures?], Novolinea bagged astronauts [Spanish], MPC blue spacemen and the Star Adventurer.
The red USA Star Adventurer box art looks superb, good enough to be a SWORD Scout 4! Anyone got one in this version? [Picture: Main Street Toys].
The Novolinea space men look like Comansi of Spain. Wonder of they're re-casts? Header art looks cool too. Is that Bob McCall as well?
