Woodsy,
To follow up the SWORD "knock-offs", here are some Anderson versions I have come across recently on the 'net. The 'new' version of Thunderbird 5 makes me wonder, did the original JR toy adapt an exisiting flying saucer model? It bore surprisingly little resemblance to TB5. I was particularly taken with the art for the ex-Stingray water pistol, which shows it zooming through space!

Love the Stingray water pistol. Quite apt to fire water, though Troy and hones would look a bit silly using them.
ReplyDeleteAlways wondered about the JR21 TB5 and this is a great find. The TB3 docking bay on the toy always looked like it was just knocked together and stuck on an existing toy saucer as its way too small. This spaceship toy must have used the same TB5 mould and just changed the astronaut figure.
Does look like its been stuck on don't it Yorkie. Wonder what that original Saucer was called as a toy? One version of this knockoff TB5 was made by SOMA.
