Here's my own MOD MONSTER by NOMURA of Japan, cruelly removed from hibernation for his mugshot and beloved of my more tender ghoulish years and the scourge of my screaming Sisters! It's possible that the original Frankie had a couple of necklaces - Franken Bling! - but I need to check. Sadly I don't have a box for Old Neck Bolts to slumber in but this, painted like a crazed Catholic Priest, is what it looks like (see Baz Toys wonderful repro box site):
Having been caught with his trousers down, that greatest of perils facing all male politicians, Frankie's bonce glows like a big red tomatoe:
The other good looking lad on the slab was the FRANKENSTEIN MONSTER by ROSKO, with what I consider to be far inferior box art. I didn't have old Rosko Features and I'm not even sure if it was available in the UK?

Whilst researching this blarticle I was thrilled to find that the ol' Blusher lasted into the 1980's with this version by POYNTER of Japan, recently seen on Ebay, which reveals the tiny T-shirted Frankie's 'century old secret!'. Yikes!

Yep, Monsters and Space were my first loves. Anyone else? and Anyone got any more Monster toys?
Hee, hee. Excellent political commentary, Woodsy!
ReplyDeleteBut, ugh, more horror monsters! I will never, never understand this ^_^
