As the ultimate 'bloke on a rope', Goeff Tracy, knows, when feeling highly-strung and you want to unwind, try the classic Supermarionation spruce-up in Geoff's en-suite. You will need swingin' tackle like Romney's Captain Scarlet Asteroid Talc, Romney's Joe 90 Jet Soap and for the girls, the Waddington's Lady Penelope Cosmetics set. But for the total classic SWORDhead just-bathed-in-space fragrance you will need none other than the Zero-X Japanese Bubble Bath (Courtesy of WOTAN/'Thunderbirds Merchandise Museum'). Phwoar!

The web is truly uncanny - whilst searching 'thunderbirds toothpaste' I came across a Thunderbirds site I've never actually seen before - complete with a fan fiction section and writers club! Tracy Island Chronicles
Any one ever written any stories?
"Asteroid Talc"!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I never had any!
I feel so deprived!
I must have one for my collection.
ReplyDeleteAsteroid Talc, eh? We'll see who wins this war of nerves. While the Mysterons are all sweaty, we'll still be fresh and clean ^_^ The Mysterons might know we can hear them, but do they know we can smell them too? ^_^
ReplyDeleteAnd if I'd know there was a Zero X bubble bath, I would have had two baths a year at least!
Tracy Island Chronicles is a great website. They helped me a few years ago when I was looking for information on the ages of the Tracy brothers and Lady Penelope.
While everyone is on a nostalgia trip, about 40 seconds ago, about 45 seconds ago, about 50 seconds.....on C4 posh house rescue there was a scrap of wallpaper with a six-wheeled moon truck and a T'Bird type rocket!
ReplyDeleteRe: Stories. I've never completed any of the fan fiction I had in my mind but two 'Thunderbirds' stories I would have liked to panned to novel length are 'Ground Zero' and 'The Parallel'. I also gave an indication on one forum, in the aftermath of the 2004 'Thunderbirds' film, what a better plot would have been. Keeping that one close to my chest!
ReplyDeleteI did write a novelisation of 'The Mysterons', back in 1985 when the series was rescreened after years in limbo. I wonder what I did with that?
I also did a script for a 'Space:1999' graphic novel called 'Powerplay', which would have segued Years 1 and 2, and explained why some personnel disappeared and others came out of nowhere. I think I still have that notebook somewhere...
And just to tease you further, I recently devised a format for a 'SpaceX' series, and plotted out a 30 minute opener called 'The Midas Inheritance', followed up by another story (not necessary episode 2 as it twists the format) called 'Blessed Echo'. Pondering an outlet for these...
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds very interesting and intriguing Shaqui, especially the SpaceX and Space 1999 ideas.
ReplyDeleteThe 'Space:1999' script was written over ten years ago, and probably very fannish. But it addressed something quite overlooked in the series format - surely Alpha was not the only complex on the Moon!
ReplyDeleteI was more pleased with the 'SpaceX' format, written last year, as there was never one for the toys, unlike 'SWORD' which had two. it had a very human element at its core, and some dramatic drive from recent events like a collapsing economy. One day, I may write it out as a full length script or story...
Think I've just twigged what you mean Shaqui - a 30 minute opener! is it a SpaceX TV show? Wow!
