Blog reader and collector Ferryman recently picked up this mystery plastic helicopter at a toy fair. It's clearly SPECTRUM -influenced but the livery says 'TRAFFIC PATROL'. So what is it?
I remembered seeing something like it in Dennis Nicholson's amazing but sadly out-of-print book, The GERRY ANDERSON MEMORABILIA GUIDE (aka 'The Bible'). Lo and behold it's possibley the very same although the picture is in black and white. However, it shows the box too - The JET HELICOPTER, Taiwan, 1986, Bump'n'Go(D. Nicholson). The 'star' on the front of the box looks like the Tarheel 'Star' that they use in the same place. Anyone got this box?
Extending the net a little further I asked Captain Harlet himself, Terry Harle, SPECTRUM Agent and collector, for his view. He sent me a view alright, an incredible picture of a fellow collector's Scarlet toy collection! Feast your eyes. Envy is Green!
I have an important request of Mr Harle. I'm concerned with the box on the bottom shelf that features TB6. There are toy images which are barely visible on the end of the box facing the camera. If they are what I hope they are it's very important that I see a better image. I would be very grateful if you could supply an image of the end of that box.
