I saw this brilliant 1969 set on Ebay and had considered bidding. Shipping costs put me off and I thought it would go way outside my budget. I've never seen this Hasbro set before but I think it's a wonderful toy and incredibly good looking. The tank looks particularly brilliant. Not only that but some parts are actually records thay play (presumably NASA outtakes?) What an amazing toy design and must be unique? Sadly no box. Can you believe that the toy was sold for just £6!
The sellers description was thus:
"Hasbro Vintage Space Astronaut Talking-Record Playset Circa 1969: Another great vintage toy from my own personal collection, featured in this auction is a very rare Hasbro toy, circa 1969. This unique Space Astronaut playset includes a talking-record track for the moving space vehicles. It appears the Astronaut vehicles all have needles on the bottom, and as you push them down the various tracks you hear Astronaut recordings. The recordings are very faint, although you can make out some of the words. Everything pictured is included. The domed pieces fit together with the tracks, while the vehicles with the astronauts move up and down on the tracks. The vehicles are not complete; one saucer is missing the dome and the 1 of the other pieces is missing it silver piece. The tracks show no signs of breakage and the cardboard set up is in great condition."
ive seen this a number of times before on ebay US, but again postal costs for anything over six inches long are prohibitive.
