' Paul - following on from your question at the end of the lunar jeep article, here ( above ) you can clearly see where the toys came from. Pictured is the Spacex Moon Buggy (without large golden astronaut) and the card back picture showing how the model was only loosely based on the actual vehicle, but the illustration is lifted directly from the Grumman press photo. Lower pic shows a rear view and the buggy's ability to flex at the middle, like Rob's Jeep. See more on the development of the LRV here:
