Shonen Booster Rocket

Hi Woodsy,

Just been going through some of my Japanese Comic Books for Captain Scarlet content and came across this page with an image of a Booster Rocket.

It is in the Shonen Pictorial Book Issue 3 from March 1968 and has a storyline about a young boy with an even younger blind girl in tow.

Telly Talk

Seen a few more things on the telly box.

Punisher The Last Fall. A TV special movie. I like the Punisher. No messin' about. No fancy talkin'. Frank basically goes nuts and rids NYC of every hoodlum going. It doesn't take long. He's done by the end of the film. I like the big actor but the action was a little staid. Not for the squeamish. On Disney+. On reflection I preferred the old Thomas Jane Punisher TV special set in the launderette. Now that's punishing!

Jessica Jones. Another Marvel on Disney+. I worried this series before about the super strong private eye. It is engaging but just not super heroey enough for me. I ditched it again. Sorry Jessica.

WandaVision. I love the Scarlet Witch. so damn powerful and gorgeous too that Miss. Maximoff. Vision's OK I guess. A bit tame.. But I didn't like their marital soap at all. Too Off-piste Marvel for me. Stick to what we like Stan. Lotsa Bashin' and tight Spandex! Ditched 

VisionQuest: Vision and Ultron talking. The actors that is. Nope thankyou very much. Too much talk by actors about acting. They should have stayed in costume at least. Ditched.

SoulM8te. A sci-fi Ai-fi on Disney too. An 18+! Jeepers I thought, that's a strong rating. As a flick it was OK. I don't think it said anything new about AI home bots though (not like Kubrick's astonishing AI), except that, they're likely to destroy you, but We knew that already didn't we. Think Stepford Wives and Ex- Machina and you're close to the servo. It didn't warrant 18+.

Tray Station

 Further to my earlier Hairspray Starship post, I've now added a painted lunchables tray truck to my spray ship to haul it round the dark side station.

Go for launch!

Sticking Around

 Ever since I played with my Action Man German Soldier as a kid I was intrigued by the stick grenades Palitoy provided, as seen here on eBay.

All grown up now and not wanting to pay the prices for these albeit superbly made toy? replicas available in eBay and elsewhere.

... I thought I'd experiment and make my own, whilst my Friday morning sausages were frying.

Using a plastic vitamin jar I tried different 'sticks'.

And my personal favourite, with a watering can spout, ready for throwing at my mates back in 1970! 

COR! ARTO'S ALFA ROMEO CARABO RERUN

Here are photos of my wooden and motorized model of the 1968 Alfa Romeo Carabo concept car.

 Made by an unknown but obviously quite skilful Finnish model maker, it measures an admirable 37 cm.

 There are two electric motors inside, and it had some kind of remote control, now sadly lost.
