Space Bird 6 Update

 Last September for the bloggiversary Arto treated us to his fabulous Space Bird 6 duo in a special post.

Well here's another Space Bird 6 I spotted whilst googling. 

It's a colour reversal of the red yellow one Arto has (the other, 1 of 1, was the same as Artos)

I love these Space Birds with their Fireball XL5 looks.

The new Project SWORD Comic Kickstarter

John Freeman over at the excellent Down The Tubes comics blog very kindly alerted me to the upcoming kickstarter campaign for a Project SWORD graphic novel by Anderson Entertainment and Time Bomb comics.

I have signed up as a follower and the prospect of a comic hardback version is tantalizing to say the least, whatever you think of the comic style. It will be the first SWORD publication since the new story and illustration in the custom TV21 a good few years ago.

Many of Gerry Anderson's famous comic strips have found new life in complete collected editions from his son's company, Anderson Entertainment, and I hope that this kickstarter may one day lead to interest in a hardback collection of the much less well-known Project SWORD strips, which featured in SOLO and TV21 comics.

Here's to a fair wind behind this brave new campaign.

 I must say Gorzak is  news to me. 

A 1990's Tyco dogzilla, it's the monster you control.

I would have adored it as a monstrous kid.

Rob's Atlantis Revell X-17 Research Missile

Here is my latest blast from the past, the Atlantis Models reissue of the X-17  test missile, originally produced by Revell in the late 1950s.

The actual X-17 was manufactured by Lockheed, designed to provide information on long-range ballistic missile re-entry issues. A three stage solid propellant hypersonic missile, the X-17 was introduced in 1954 and reached speeds of over 10,000 mph.

In 1958, several X-17s were used for Project Argus, which tested nuclear weapons detonated at high altitudes.

Unceremoniously Ejected

Bill's comment the other day about the Lone Star Gemini Space Capsule pilot being 'unceremoniously ejected' got me thinking if there were other toys in my childhood, which did the same thing.

The obvious choice was the poor passenger in the Corgi James Bond Aston Martin, that helpless blue suited gunslinger who flies through the air!
