The Treehouse of Horror

Well I ticked another thing off my list of stuff to see this morning. Purely by chance I caught The Simpsons Halloween special, The Treehouse of Horror on TV, after watching Frasier.

For years I've seen cards, comics, toys and all sorts from this special but never the thing itself.

I used to watch the Simpsons when it first came out but stopped. It was fun seeing the Treehouse though, I enjoyed all the horror references, especially the famous Twilight Zone episode with the monster on the plane's wing. Was that William Shatner? 

There was lots of stuff from Coppola's Dracula too, with the distinctive double bee-hive hairdo. Oddly enough, I thought Treehouse was older than that. I'm not sure when it was made.

Anyways, job done. I've seen it now. Have you readers?

T in Space

 T Toys aka T in a Circle aka Tai Hing toys made some gorgeous space toy vehicles in the Sixties.

Hong Kong forerunners of Project SWORD, you can clearly see echoes of the Moonbus in this plain titled Space Vehicle. Those are the Moonbus pilots too!

Here's a nice white and red version too, along with its box, of which there are variants.

T in a Circle did release the SWORD Moonbus, eventually picked up and rebranded by Century 21 Toys.

Here's a Funmate carded Space Command clone in orange, along with some blue space rock, radar and more.

Here's the Imperial original, the six wheeler in its FAB1 pink and a mini Major Matt lounging around on his ... Now what is that fabulous space vehicle called?

Ed's 1959 Brumberger Co. Tin Litho Superior Service Station #866

Here's some photos of the vintage New Old Stock (NOS) tin-litho service station I mentioned a couple of days ago.

As a recap, the seller stated he bought a bunch of these unopened service stations from the widow of a service station owner. The owner had bought them as promotion's and give-aways and had many left over for years after he retired.

The first photo is a station the seller built to see what it was like.

The second is an ad for the station from an old catalog,

and the rest of the photos are mine. The seller had opened another box to photograph so that buyer's could see what they were getting. I ended up with both the opened box set and another one which is still sealed!

Paul's Joe 90 Jig-saw

Hi Woodsy,

Here is my Joe 90 jig-saw puzzle from the 1960s. A Waddington puzzle, with a copyright notice from 1968 to A.T.V. (Overseas) Ltd.

I have just noticed the toys in the background. The white Volkswagen on the upper shelf with the blue plastic conveyor belt is the Husky Toys Conveyor Truck.

The vehicle on the lower shelf – a plastic cab/chassis with a printed tinplate Cider tank is by Wells Brimtoy. Not sure about the rest.
