The Company of Wolves: It's Mysterious My Weekly

 I adore the fantastical magic of The Company of Wolves. Based on Angela Carter's short story, it's a film I just love and is up there with The Fearless Vampire Killers as a rare but rewarding treat.

Seeing it again this week I noticed some publications in the bedroom set, one particularly mysterious, as I simply cannot find another example!

This mystery is the magazine on the bed. It's visible on the film poster and in the film itself you can see it's a A My Weekly with the words The Shattered Dream on the bottom. The picture looks like the girl in the film. It could well be a made up prop. What do you think readers? 

Less of a mystery are two more publications in the heroine's bedroom. I can see the Take of Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle but what's the other one? 

Where Have All The TV Dinners Gone ?

Here is one for your Food Files. 

When did manufacturers and retailers stop using the term 'TV Dinner' for a pre-cooked, frozen meal that you just heated up in the oven ? 

I do not think I have seen or heard 'TV Dinner' in decades. In the olden days they came in metal trays for heating in a real oven, not plastic trays designed for microwaves.

 I love a ring torus.

Basically a ring donut.

Such a fantastic shape.

Very Sci-Fi and there are at least two or three TV and toy tori. 

Here we have the Nemesis from Star Maidens 1976 ( I copied a doll from the show last year)

Here's the utterly beautiful ring device of Colorforms Xodiac, one of the Outer Space Men. These were my favourite space figures as a kid, bendy like Major Matt and so damn cool.

Space Explorer Car by LN

 This lovely item was recently seen on auction by Arto, a gorgeous Space Exploration Car.

It's a blister carded Hong Kong friction toy released by LN, model no. 3086.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a similar One Man submarine toy.

Anyone got anything like it?
