Hot Shelf

 Well I made some more room in my cabinet and got my Hot Wheels out and onto their own shelf (my handful of Redlines are on the shelf above).

It's not all of them but I'm pleased with how they look. Are you?

Del Toro's Frankenstein

 As recommended by Bill, I watched the first half of the new Guillermo Del Toro's Frankenstein on TV.

And wow! What a treat for the eyes. Clever, lush, big and bold, it's a fabulous production and a worthy entry in Promethian Shelley  telly. 

Watching Del Toro's sumptuous gothic feast made me think of Aurora monsters, Tim Burton, Bernie Wrightson and the 1970's TV film starring Michael Sarrazin, itself an enfant terrible of evening TV which shocked us all with its decapitation scene. Yuk! 

There's even a similarity between Michael Sarrazin and Del Toro's leading man Oscar Isaacs!

Terranova47's Attic Finds 1

Hello

I went to check our attic and was pleased to find no new leaks. 

While there I opened a carton that was sealed back in the 1990's. It contained books, magazines and comics, a mix of mine and my then 9 year old daughter. In truth, though purchased for her, clearly they represent my tastes in stories.

Second Shelf

 Having boxed up my excess die-casts I had some shelf room to create a secondary display, this time of my better condition models, some favourites, some Corgi Rockets and a few Redlines.

Game On!

Seeing this German board game, ÖL,  on one of my Kleinanzeigen searches reminded me how I used to collect vintage board games for the beautiful box art like this.

Always arresting and high quality, board game box art was fabulous in the Sixties and Seventies, standards which took these games around the globe. I guess you could call it boomer box art, when everything was still an adventure.

It's looks like tin to me but sure is handsome. Not certain of the maker.
