My Pizza was Served by Droids

 At Center Parcs last week we were partly served by a robot in a pizza joint. 

A human lady took our order but the food travelled from the kitchen to us on a trolley droid, after which, the human lady then still placed the meals on our table.

I imagine in some tech-drenched countries the human lady is no more and all her functions have been replaced by machines. Maybe even the cooking itself, with droid chefs roasting chickens and testing the soup!

I'm unsure what I feel about the ongoing robot and AI creep into our lives. It seems unstoppable. How far will it go?

The Thunderbirds boy in me loves it, the old luddite Sixty something not so much.

Is this the future Century 21 showed us and I just can't see it fully yet?

Topo Gigio Toy Camper Truck

 I saw this online and it reminded me of its appearance on the blog in its early years as it's an obscure Century 21 Toys toy:

The Topo Gigio Camper Truck issued circa 1967.

It's one of three different Topo vehicles they released.

Of interest to Project SWORD toy collectors, the box art Century 21 used for their Topo vehicles was the same as the space vehicle range.

Re-licensed to Thrill..

As a kid, I was lucky enough to own a Corgi 007 DB5. Sadly it didn't last the years and is not one of my still existing toys.

Almost ten years ago, I was visiting a small toy shop in Torquay and saw an original example for a reasonable price.

Now I have one again, and I hear Corgi is reissuing a newly manufactured "original" version.

It seems very close to the original, but I'm somewhat mystified by the lack of a Road Tax disc in this new issue.

However, a bit of internet research suggests this detail on my car, may be an after- market addition.

Golly What a Day!

 Like Robin Hood's final arrow our Sherwood holiday has come to and end. We will miss the Westworldy isolation of Centre Parcs and it's gated life of swimming and bikes.

Before reality was allowed fully back in we stopped off at the RSPB Sherwood Forest Centre, the modern epicentre of the Robin Hood legend.

Theres lots of spot-on info about Robin, Marion and the Merry Men, including the wedding place, the TV appearances and the movies! My favourite is the Sixties Disney cartoon! What's yours? 

The Centre has a fabulous collection of Hood movie posters on the walls. There's so many films! 

There's Robin's tackle everywhere too.
