BLOGGIVERSARY OPENER: ARTO'S MARUMAN TOY PROBE FORCE 1

Wholly new to the blog is Arto's new find, the Japanese Probe Force 1 by Maruman.

We've seen something very similar on MC years ago but in kit form.

Bill and Arto have kindly supplied me with photos to allow a comparison.

Top: Arto's new toy version, bottom: Bill's old kit version built-up

Arto says: In the "top" photo you may see clearly the sprue marks on the upper wings. The toy measures 32 x 9 cm.

Bill says: "Arto's has slots to clip in a friction motor, whereas mine does not."

The boxes compared: Arto's toy top [a 32.5 x 10 x 4 cm], Bill's kit bottom [32 x 21 x 3.5 cm]

Both versions came with SB decals, SB short for Space Bird.

Arto concludes: Funny how both boxes use the same elements but in a different setting. Must be the same illustrator I guess.

Arto's new Probe Force 1 is the best Project SWORD discovery in years.

WE ARE 15! ITS OUR BIRTHDAY!

Well folks, its another bloggiversary! Yep, its the blog's borthday and as usual we''ll have an action-packed day full of specials, cards, jelly and cake!

I had thought it was the 16th Birthday but with the help of Paul V's maths skills it's the 15th birthday, so apologies if you put 16 on your cards! My bad! 

As its the 15th, on the 15th, I'll be reporting on a few old chestnuts [no, not me, Scoop and Bill!]; some Project SWORD, which is how the blog started and some LP LN toys, those cheeky rellies of SpaceX.

There's guest specials on Dekker Helmets, 2005 and Beyond, De Havilland Vampires, LP Cut-Out Rocket Models, THEM!, Vintage Masks and much more!

So without further ado, it only remains for me to thank Bill and Scoop for all their brilliant posts and enthusiasm for the blog and all our regular guests for their fabulously ace contributions. 

But most importantly we want to thank our readers, without whom the blog would not have lasted this long and kept going the way it has. Thankyou!

OUR 15th BIRTHDAY PARTY STARTS IN:

TRIDENT STARFIGHTER: MISSILE CRISIS!

 This summer Kevin very kindly gave me an old Trident Starfighter.

I've blogged my re-colouring/ tidying up up earlier this July. The final addition this August was an original missile kindly donated by Bill, as were two more of the same.

I've read that the wing missiles were dummies, but the two originals won't fit. I'm loather to snap the ends off the missiles so does anyone have any ideas of how to get them in?

Sonic Woman, Sonic Man

A few years back we were discussing such TV luminaries as Farrah Fawcett and Lindsay Wagner. I think I'd found an unusual 18 inch Farah doll.

Another doll came up too, Sonic Woman, a knockoff of the Bionic Woman, although at the time we didn't know the date or the maker.

Paul A contacted me with a link to a cool short video by toy gurus Plaid Stallions. It covers the sonic couple, Sonic Woman and Sonic Man and shows us both the maker and the year of manufacture. Interesting!

British Pathe: Animated Dioramas

Hi

Here is another wonderful British Pathe film from You Tube, featuring animated models. Closer to puppets than models, they are beautifully made, and painted.

The individual models have been set in to complex, animated scenes. Small motors power the scenes.
