SEASTAR 5: INVADERS FROM THE ABYSS 1 BY RICHARD DIXON

Here are four of my images for the SEASTAR 5 Launch sequence....

The First image shows the SEASTAR 5 , a Carrier Battle Cruiser on its Goliath Launch Transporter System { LTS } as it prepares to move forward to Airlock One .

The submarines lighting internal systems are on.....

The Second image shows a view looking out from Airlock One , into Hanger One as the SEASTAR 5 slowly moves forward toward the Airlock.

Third Image is a low angle view on the SEASTAR 5 and Goliath in Hanger One....lighting systems are now more intense as the launch system transporter nears the Airlock .

Fourth Image shows the SEASTAR 5 and its transporter moving into Airlock one.

The SEASTAR 5 ...if it was actually real....would be six hundred feet in length , nuclear powered with two propulsion systems....one of which can propel the huge subcraft to supersonic supercavitation speed....over a 100 knots . A crew of eight Aquanauts , two DSR1's Flying subs , two RSV Rapid Strike Vehicles and 6 SEAFLY flying jetbikes are carried on this giant craft of the 21st Century .

KEV'S POD FLEET

I'm currently building the new kit of the Thunderbird 2 launch bay, which is quite a big job. It comes with a huge collection of pod vehicles. 

 I've put them together but have yet to paint and detail them. Just looking at them like this though, I thought that if Kinder eggs had included pod vehicles, this is what you would've got!

As an aside, doesn't this fire vehicle look a lot like the, as yet unseen, SpacexII crash tender?

TRAIPSE ROUND ACOMB

 Another Saturday shufty in a few Yorkshire charities in Acomb garnered a few little bits - more to come on those later.

In the meantime, here are some of the other collectables we saw on our day out.

All our Yesterdays, the book of the old Granada TV series. I used to watch it in the 60's or early 70's on ITV.  There was another TV series like it called The World at War. Do you remember them?

MB Games Gazza! the Game, when Gazza was in his heyday.

MB boxed game Deflection, a new one on me.

Another new one on me, Sixth Sense by Mind FX Games, the maker's most challenging game since he invented Mastermind! Do you know it?

Waddington's Cube Fusion game was one of the first old board games I found at a car boot circa 1990.

I snapped this |LP because Dorothy Squires used to live near Moonbase. She was once married to Roger Moore of James Bond fame.

I snapped this as well because of the bizarre title, "Man in the 5th Dimension".

This thick book, Best War Comics, at £10, was very pricey for a second-hand book.

A real blast from the past, SHOOT! comics from the late Sixties to 1970. Despite no interest in Footy now, back then I bought this comic and supported Don Revie's Leeds United.

Some boxed die-cast are brands I don't know like this Oxford Die-Cast.

Finally, a Matchbuilder boxed kit for making a matchstick steam traction engine. is that something you could do readers?

Tarzan a Mars Man?

I noticed recently that some Tarzan action figures have him on Mars. I thought Mars was the preserve of John Carter, his Barsoom. Did Edgar Rice send the King of the Jungle to the Red Planet too? Even Tars Tarkus gets to meet Tarzan in this line!

STAR BIRD DELUXE

I was too old for an MB Star Bird, the Zero-X of the 1980's.

If I'd been young enough I would have preferred the Japanese version of it, especially this goldy silver number pictured below. There's a cool red and white version on the box top too.
