Are you a Collector?

What do you say when someone asks you what your hobby is?

A collector? A modeller? A toy fan?

I ask because I was recently asked myself.

FIVE FUNNY MEN AGAIN

Sometimes I spot things I haven't seen for ages.

Years ago we had a brush with Five Funny Men and blog friend Paul Vreede wrote a great article on MB.

Well browsing Spain's Todocollecion I saw this Juguetes 73 [Toys 73] catalogue.

Inside were, well, those Five Funny Men again.

You can see them here on the right, at least three different sets of the plastic outstretched fellows.

Did you have or do you have any Five Funny Men.

Tyred old Story!

Hey there, I'm loving this restoration lark that's going around at the Moonbase these days... I'm using my 3D printer to replace missing parts or even make parts where none existed before!

A case in point, my Edai Grip Joe's Car never had tyres, just bare chrome wheels. I modelled and printed up some suitable tyres in a flexible resin.

I suppose I could have found some neoprene O rings that would have done the job -but where's the fun in that?

Its the nuclear ferry painted by an artist who featured on Moonbase Central over a decade ago, the great Klaus Buergle.

Klaus's art is simply wunderbar. Sadly Klaus himself died in 2015.

THE CRUNCHY CRUSADER

Arto sent me this message last month:

"Here's my latest Batman find, a Hahne Batman cornflakes container from 1989 - a tie-in with the Tim Burton Batman movie. Quite impressive at 32 cm in height.

I thought these would be common and sold massively in Western Germany where Hahne cornflakes were manufactured. To my surprise this container seems to be a scarce occurrence, at least on the internet.

The sticker on the back has text only in Finnish and in Swedish, which would suggest this was aimed for the Finnish market only. However, that would seem quite unlikely as the market is fairly limited for such a special product."
