This is a lovely old flying saucer toy I saw on Spain's Todocollecion, the Nave Espacial by Kuxan
I really like the box art.

A few photos
of the Sixteen 12 Collectables ‘Breakaway Part 2’ Episode set which appeared
around the end of October, 2019.
It comprises
of Commissioner Simmonds’ V.I.P. Eagle Transporter with a revamped V.I.P. pod,
which has deeper orange colouring going up and over the windows rather than
just the two sides.
The
previously released Product Enterprise V.I.P. Eagle has a matt orange on just
the sides, whilst the new Sixteen 12 version has a glossier look. Both look
fine, but while I imagine the purists might disagree, I personally I have to
say I prefer the new Sixteen 12 edition.
Although the
V.I.P. Eagle is rarely seen in the opening episode there is a minor bone of
contention with some fans over whether the orange paint is used on the sloping
top surfaces of the pod or if it’s just
on the sides .
It’s
difficult to say for certain as the shots it appears in either show the Eagle
landing or taking off in wispy smoke, or in shots taken from below. There's also some detail to consider on the full size studio set
I believe
members of the original special effects team have been asked in the past on the
orange colour scheme dilemma but no one can positively remember.
When Sixteen
12 considered their prototype pod colours they originally went for a bold
variation of orange and yellow colours not unlike their Immunity Syndrome
Glider colour scheme. However, for the
actual proper release of the model they decided on a simpler, but nonetheless effective
glossy reddish orange.
The set also
comes with one of the Alpha Tanks, which for the pedantic, first appeared in
‘The Infernal Machine’ episode, and not actually ‘Breakaway’. The tank was originally part of the Product
Enterprise Eagle Deluxe set. This time, however Sixteen 12 has added a cockpit
figure.
I've included a couple of photos of the original Product Enterprise VIP Eagle, and driverless Alpha tank; Also, a couple of photos of the Sixteen 12 prototype VIP Transporter Pod.
As a nipper I worshipped Instant Whip. Bird's had struck gold with this powdered pudding. I couldn't get enough of it. Creamy, dreamy and especially flavoursome when served in a glass like the one shown.
I think chocolate, butterscotch and maybe raspberry where my fave flavours. Bird's did great powdered custard, which we still get, but Instant Whip was in a league of milky pudding all on its own.
Such a pity its no longer available don't you think readers? It would make a great Xmas treat!
Which milky puds did you have as a kid?
Woodsy mentioned earlier that rumour had it that a die-cast model of SKY 1 might have been considered by Dinky. I've not heard of this myself, but I would have loved Dinky to have done one; I wonder what colour they would have chosen for it?
It did remind me, however of this postcard I got at one of the excellent SHADO conventions I attended a few years ago.
Before anyone gets too excited, I should point out it's totally made up.
This wonderful piece of hokum was created by Andrew- Mark Thompson, a talented chap who specialises in impressive fake book covers, especially made up Target Doctor Who paperbacks.
Here's a link to his blogspot:
This old auction bundle was so darn good I saved the pic. There's something for everyone!
Of interest too is the Combat Car box and toy, a nice space vehicle, to the left.
Have you got that or anything on here readers?
Another look at some previously published photos I took of the Sixteen 12 Deluxe Hangar Set.
As I thought
the Hangar diorama on its own was a bit too restrictive for the photos I wanted
to take, as you can see I chose to extend it slightly.
The Eagles
in the set comprise of a Laboratory Eagle with Spine Boosters, and a Pallet Eagle,
with a removable non-working winch motor.
It comes
with four figures; three Alphan uniformed personnel , and an astronaut holding his helmet under
his arm, all which appear to be in scale with the Eagles.
There’s also
a set of Eagle pod access stairs.
The Hangar
diorama has a base which accommodates the two Eagles, and two vividly green walls
made up of protruding triangles.
