JET PASSENGER LINER
I saw this on Spain's auction site and thought it looked a fine sleek Chinese airliner. Not supersonic like the ones featured here last week but impressive nonetheless.
Have you got anything like this readers? Did you as a kid?
TYRED PROSPECTS: DURHAM AND TARHEEL BALLOON WHEELS
When I saw this Durham Super Serpent I thought it looked familiar.

ARTO'S PENCIL CASES
The set of four pencil cases has similar space motif but different locking mechanisms. Some of them still have salesman's tags on them.
The pencil case with an interesting curved form has a space ship on a mission on one side, a Jumbo Jet about to take off on the other. This one is marked S.Y.M on the inside, which I why I assume they all are by the same maker providing the contents as well. The patent number on this one is 749086. Could S.Y.M be a British (HK) company?
Anyone else got anything like these?
Hawk Guerrilla Combat Team Thunderjet
Back in the early 1960s (1961 according to Scalemates, 1963 according to Worthpoint) the US model company Hawk re-boxed their Republic F-84E Thunderjet as the Guerrilla Combat Team. The aircraft came with a booster rocket mounted under the rear fuselage for ZEL (Zero Length) launches - the aircraft being blasted off the back of a M-52 Tractor-Trailer heavy truck, and came with three figures. All in 1/48th scale. This was a stunning kit. I should imagine it goes for a pretty penny these days - if you can find one.

SKOOLZ OUT!
School's out for summer and my work is done for another year! Yay!
The strangest and most infectious year ever, I am glad to see the back of it and look forward to 6 weeks of the 3 R's: rest, rummaging and relaxation.
I can't wait to get stuck into some car boot sales and charity shops after weeks and weeks and have fun buying lots of vintage toys and tat.
Let the games begin!
Enjoy your summer or winter wherever you are in the world.
ROB'S THUNDERBIRD 4
Since I don’t own anything even faintly resembling a Thunderbird 2 pod bay, I grabbed something to look vaguely industrial.
I still think the original Thunderbird 4 is a truly sublime design. On the other hand, the box art was about the worst thing I’ve ever seen - some sort of early CAD computer rendering - so I chucked it.
Enjoy!

TRASH THE GUMBALL DRAGON
A friend of mine got the band 21 Pilot's new limited edition box set the other day. It includes a CD, stickers, a scarf, badges, a booklet and a miniature plastic blue dragon called Trash.
Their cool oriental graphic of Trash, no doubt inspired by Hokusai, recalled something else from my own monster-fueled childhood,
