THE FIRST EVER MOONSHIP RESEARCH HERE, POSTED 2008

I'm excited about this bloglet - more fabulous pictures of the MOONSHIP in various forms! WOW! You remember I covered this gem in September as part of the PROJECT MOON thread. The pictures are ( top to bottom):

THE SECOND MOONSHIP MENTION ON MOONBASE 2008

So what about those elusive cousins of Project sword, the Lunar Climber and the Moonship? The lower of these two 1960's Trade articles about Sword ( thanks to Bill Osbourne) clearly states that the Lunar Climber is part of the Century 21 Sword range, whereas the Moonship isn't. At this point it makes sense as the Moonship is made of tin (incorrect but I thought it was tin when I wrote this. Ed.), which would make it completely different to any of the other Sword toys as they were all plastic. In the top picture, an extract of a bigger page, you can see that, despite being made by Century 21, the Lunar climber is just too fussy to be a Sword ship, too many bits sticking out. The moonship has more going for it as a Sword member. Neither one, alas, were part of the Century 21 Project Sword range. But.....

THE VERY FIRST MENTION OF A MOONSHIP ON MOONBASE 2008

A fellow Project Sword enthusiast, Wotan, spotted this Moonship on Ebay. With the box too! Notice the all- important Union Jack sticker, which is clearly visible in the old Trade Ad I posted the other day. And by golly, that's a Century 21 Toys logo on the top right corner! So, besides both being Regent Toys, the Lunar Climber AND the Moonship were also BOTH Century 21 Toys. Excellent. Cheers Wotan! Looks soooooo sleak and great but I now realise that the tinplate Moonship that I got at some expense in the early 1990's ( top picture) is not the real deal, it's something else! Drat, double drat!

ESTRELA ROBO COM TELE VALIGURSKY BOX ART

I got excited about this rare Estrela robot when I first blogged it years ago

This Brazilian Horikawa-Estrela robot is the only one I know with Ed Valigursky Spacex-related imagery on the chest TV and the box.

There's a Booster Rocket on the box front and a MEV-2 on the TV!

But this is only the second decent box, albeit a repro on Ebay, I've seen on all sides online, I think, so I saved the pics.

Its this side that's just brilliant.

Closer we can now see that its the MEV-2 and the Booster Rocket on the side.

How cool is that!
