BLAKES 7 FEDERATION TROOPER HELMET ON JONATHAN ROSS SHOW 1991 BY KEVIN

I finally got around to making myself a replica of the helmet worn by the Federation soldiers in Blakes 7. I made one years ago that ended up on the Jonathan Ross show in 1991 - screengrab below - but I don't remember what I did with that one!

A QUESTION OF HOPE

With a month to go to the new FORCE AWAKENS I have been musing on hope.

Like hope and despair STAR WARS and ALIEN were the flip-sides of each other. The yin and yang.

One is lighthearted, the other horrific.

One has a Force, the other nothing. 

One has hope, the other none.

I suppose, as well, one was for kids and the other adults, the products of each Directors' unique visions.

So could Ridley Scott have made Star Wars and George Lucas ALIEN?

What would they have been like?

BLINKING TOYS

I can't think of many toys that featured eyes as a focal point [excuse the pun!]. Can you readers?

There were googly eyes spectacles where the pupils were dangling on a spring. There were some plastic eyes and eye patches for fancy dress too but nothing much really that I can remember.

Nowadays the eyes have it! You can get eyeball bubblegum....

WOULD YOU HAVE SLIMED YOUR TOYS?

I'm pretty sure I had a pot of Mattel Green Slime when I was a wee nipper. You know, that wet cold lime-green goo that would stretch and lengthen in your hands. It smelt sweet I think but that bits vague. It felt like liver.

Some games made use of slime. Mattel had a Slime Monster game and later had He-Man or Hordak sliming up the place.

But did you ever pour your green slime over your toys readers? It would have filled a Fab 1 or gelled up an Action Man something rotten! And what about Play Dough and slime! Yuk!

Was slime never to be played with near other toys? Waddaya think readers?
