Hi Woodsy
Some time ago I signed up for emails from Atlantis Toy and Hobby, so I can keep up to date on their planned new releases. They recently announced that they have registered the old Aurora oval logo with the US Trademark office, and will be using it on some future kit re-issues.
First up will be a re-issue of the Blue Knight of Milan, and a re-stock of the already re-issued Silver Knight of Augsburg. So Aurora kits, and the Aurora name, will soon be back in the shops.

Its great that Atlantis is bringing back Aurora, such an iconic brand. Even though my figure-painting skills are less than stellar, I may have to buy one of those Knight kits just to support them. I can either paint it to the best of my ability, or stash it in the "history of models" archive. SFZ
ReplyDeleteYes, it is good to see the Aurora name coming back. The Aurora knights were their first figure kits, and so are an important piece of modelling history.
ReplyDeleteWho knows, I might even use the excuse to get one of the Knight kits and see if I can up my painting skills. If the experiment is a failure, nobody needs to see the result! But yes, I will support this project! SFZ
DeleteI hope they are able to reissue the 1/48 WW1 fighter aircraft kits from Aurora. Back in the 50's it was fun to recreate Biggles 'dogfights' with them.
