Hi Woodsy. Another late entry to the police theme. I think z victor 4 is a z cars call sign, and it looks like the car is a triumph 2000. The copyright is BBC 1973, so it probably is a Z Cars product.

Woodsy adds:
Remember this TV series? Here's the memorable theme tune and intro!
I've always assumed Z stood for Zephyr, as in the car. Am I wrong?
Z Cars was on TV in New Zealand, at least in the early days. I do not think it ran as long in NZ as it did in Britain. I am not sure about this, but I think the term Z Car actually refers to the cars having radios fitted ? Perhaps two-way, rather than just receivers ?
Can I just point out, I think the young woman in the black and white still frame for Z Cars you have on the blog is none other than our very own Judy Dench, who went on to be promoted to head of MI6, or 'M' in the Bond franchise.
Very well spotted, Mish. In Season 3, Episode 2, Made for Each Other, Judi Dench played a character named Elena Collins. The episode aired on 11th September 1963.
Didja know - Z Cars was set in "not-quite Liverpool", and the theme tune is based on the Liverpool folk song "Johnny Todd" - which is why Everton FC have it as their theme song!
There was also the Z Cars Fairylite Ford Zephyr white police car. A quantity of new old stock was found years ago here in Finland, where the series aired for a short period in the Sixties.
