I've enjoyed cleaning up my new 1983 Action Force Skystriker found at the boot sale this morning.
Its come up nicely and the removal of old glue and missing sticker residue has worked well. I used some hand sanitiser to do this and it worked a treat.
A stuff wet brush and water got into the nooks and crannies and a pin helped with the grime stuck in many of the plastic grooves.
Its not complete with its tailfins and missiles missing and some of the decals but this version 1 British release of the Hasbro jet looks pretty darn sleek.
Here it is ready for duty in the garden.
Like it?
Have you got one? Had one?
Its unusual to see the bigger Action Farce/GIJoe toys in this condition, due to their size, they are often damaged. Knock up a couple of tail fins from an old model kit - a pair of wings from a 1/72 jet should do nicely! Bill
ReplyDeleteI was in two minds about buying this as I tend not to spend much at boot sales. I managed to get the price down to £8 and took the jet home!
DeleteI'm sure I've seen replacement decals for sale on on ebay, as well as assorted spares for the AF jet. A fine treasure you found there.
ReplyDeleteInteresting Tone. I'll have a look, thanks.
DeleteThat is a beautiful beast!
