I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this in my Daughter's cupboard, a bag of Golden Nuggets chewing gum, little muslin string-pull bag and all!
Remember these?

I loved them! I always kept the bags too!
ReplyDeleteha ha, me too! The bags were great for keeping other little nac nacs in or even Action Man field bags!
DeleteMe too. I used them as duffel bags for my GI Joes back as a kid. Nowadays I use some moving crates I had made in 1/6 scale. Also found some in scale 2 piece clear boxes t5hat hold a decent amount of stuff.
DeleteGreat Joes think alike Lance!
DeleteNever seen or heard of these.
ReplyDeleteThe only Golden Nuggets I remember were the sugary breakfast cereal ones.
They were popular in sweet shops back in the day Mish. Along with Sweet Tobacco and Chocolate Cigarettes! Golden Nugget cereals are still available and very popular at Moonbase especially with the Grandkids. Only Lion and Lucky Charms cereals beat them!
DeleteA whole box full of the modern gum! https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1191491521/golden-gum-nuggets-gold-mine-sacks?gpla=1&gao=1&utm_source=connexity&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_uk_google&utm_content=16835623450350942573012041000008005
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Memories of childhood past! The ones i used to get had brown text, no cartoon and a yellow drawstring.
ReplyDeleteLike those other sweets... the wrapped torpedo shaped Cola candy on a stick. Raspberry flavoured Liquorice with silver paper ends. Those weird bark covered chewable sticks with the liquorice flavour....
I know the cola sticks Looey. Some were whistles too. Were they called Candy Pops? I know the barl liquorice too, they were raw liquorice from the plant itself I think. the raspberry flavoured liquorice with silver ends has me thinking. Were they a hard toffee wrapped individually?
