I was fascinated by this Fizz Nik.
At first I thought it was a space toy but no, its a straw!
You fill it with ice cream or ice, slot it in your fave pop bottle and away you go!
ha ha!
Love it!
Being a lover of 'floats' myself [I invented my own 'Disco Disaster' - the coke float] this Fizz Nik gets my vote for best straw ever made, easily the winner of Straw Wars!
But did it float your coke readers?
Did it catch on?
OMG! I haven't seen one of these in years! Great post Woodsy. As gimmicky as these were, they actually worked quite well, and I enjoyed many a root beer float with these!!!
ReplyDeleteha ha! Glad you appreciated it Ed. I actually first thought it was a satellite but then read the label online! I've had one root beer in my life and I'm sorry to say it was gross! I clearly needed a Fizz Nik! ha ha
Deletehahahahaha that's funny Woodsy! Reminds me of the first time I had what the German's call 'kinder bier' (Bettina always called it Dunkel Bier which of course it isn't). I thought it was nasty and then one day inexplicably I had a taste for it and voila' I've been a big fan of it ever since!
DeleteI love Kinder Bier Ed! Had some just last month in Recklinghausen. Its called Vita Malz the brand I drink there, delicious and sweet! Is that like root beer?
DeleteVita Malz was our favorite as well Woodsy! Ya know, root beer and Kinder Bier aren't all that dissimilar in taste. If anything, the malt drink is heavier while the root beer is fizzier because of the carbonation. Root beer, as far as I remember, was originally a drink called 'Sarsaparilla' because it was made from the root of that plant. One can still buy it here but mostly, it morphed into what we know as root beer. Over here I can get Goya Malt at the Commissary and it's very similar to Vita Malz except that it's sweeter.
DeleteWhat a wonderful, bizarre food accessory. Those were the days, my friend. SF_Ziggurat
ReplyDeleteAh yes, when kids' tastes were at the heart of everything Zigg!
DeleteNever heard of it, but at least it's easily cleaned. Unlike all those grody Silly Straws.
ReplyDeleteGrody! What a great word Baron! I am going to use it if you don't mind!
