I had a look at Mego's website https://megofigures.com/
There are modern re-issues of trusted favourites in there like monsters, Star Trek and super heroes. There are also figures from shows, such as Impractical Jokers, that American readers will know but being a Brit I don't I'm afraid.
Ominously the 'latest news' was from way back in 2020, regarding Ultraman. I just hope this isn't a sign of dormancy.
All in all its great to see such an iconic brand having another go so many years after its heyday.
Have you seen it?
Oh yes, for me I've only found them in B&M so always at a discount price, I love em, old, new, busted up, customised, Dr Mego too!! I wish they had got the licence for Star Wars back in 77
ReplyDeleteBandM! Really! I'm going!
DeleteMy Christmas Captain Kirk was around a tenner!
DeleteThe new Mego wave is alive and well here in the U.S.In fact, you should be interested to know the newest wave is a bunch of British horror figures, such as Christopher Lee's portrayal of Dracula and The Mummy
ReplyDeleteAh, the Hammer greats. What a range it will be Brian. Are they heading for Monster Base?
DeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteLoads of Mego at Wal-Marts, they are just over in the electronics section, by the video games and such instead of the toy aisle. Price range I've been seing there are $8-50 US. Target is hit or miss on Mego and haven't seen any there since last year but they are just finishing up the change to the item lines for this year. The animated D7D figures seem to no longer have space on their pegs but Wal-mart has them.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Megos are everywhere in the State's Lance! Wow!
