Ah ha! So that’s how it works! Sadly the actual toy looks nothing like the C57D spacecraft from Forbidden Planet. I wonder if this is another example of reused stock? I suppose kids would have had to settle for looking at the lovely box art... As a kid, I had a Lone Star Stingray cap pistol and I was a bit mystified at it's odd styling. I rationalized it as probably being an Aquaphibian gun. Little did I know it was actually an older Dan Dare toy, repurposed by having a new logo engraved on it!
