Over the years I've found action figures and toys from most film series. Aliens, Robocop, Rambo, Jurassic Park to name a few. Car boot sales seemed to have something to find from the all.
One film though has eluded me, Raiders of the Lost Ark. In fact I've never found any second hand figures or toys from any of the Indiana Jones films.
I often dreamt of finding a Belloq figure or Marian Ravenwood or even more fantastic, the Map Room, the set based on probably on my favourite scene, the discovery of the map room, where the sunlight hits the sceptre and lights up the model.
Have you any Indiana Jones figures, toys or games readers?
Action figures are not my field, but there have certainly been toys from the various films, I remember seeing them in the shops, although I did not get any. Plenty listed on line, not sure if they are vintage or more modern. In the 1990s Micro Machines did a set of mini vehicles from the three films. The lack of kits is surprising.

So there's a lack of Indy kits Paul. You would have thought the films made for great plastic kits wouldn't you.
DeleteThere were a few sets for Raiders, but not a lot in Europe for the rest f the saga. Lego made quite a few sets and included Indiana Jones in their game series, which are excellent. Ive got the Indy game and most of the Star Wars and DC ones on Playstation
ReplyDeleteOddly enough I've never found any old Indy figures at car boot sales and I've been to a lot!

Great link Hugh, thanks. Those blister sets you cover are excellent. Even the big German mechanic gets a look in! What a great scene!
DeleteI had the map room playset which I picked up in the 80s on a trip to the US. Nicer in concept than execution, the " little model of the city all laid out" was a single unpainted moulding. I have no idea what happened to it. When I first moved out of my parent's home, I lived in an old corner store with some fellow SF fans (one of whom would become my wife). I had a broken TV set that I hollowed out and put in the window facing the street. We'd arrange little scenes using 3 3/4 inch figures for the amusement of the local kids.
ReplyDeleteThe Map Room would have made a nice prop, but it wasn't made at that time in our lives...
That broken TV window display sounds ace Looey! Love it. Which was your fave scene you did?
DeleteWe had a three act scene based on Wrath of Khan. Act one had Mr Spock being forced into an open grave surrounded by mourners. He had a speech bubble saying
Delete"Wait! You haven't seen the movie yet! You don't know if I AM dead!"
Yoda is sitting on his chest saying words to the effect of
"Listen Buddy, we paid a lot for this funeral and NO ONE'S gonna spoil it!"
Ha ha! Fab Looey! Bet you made a Yoda fans! Ha ha.
