Some jobs just never made it to the toy factory.
I had a Post Office and a bus conductor and a supermarket as a kid.
I think I might have been an air traffic controller too.
But I never saw a window cleaner toy set or a chimney sweep toy set! For obvious reasons, but they would have been fun!
Even an Action Man outfit for jobs like that would have done. Imagine, an Action Man butcher or a carpet fitter! Why just firemen and soldiers?
What job toy sets would you have liked to see readers?
If I remember my Monty Python, a Gynecologist set.
ReplyDeleteLordy!
DeleteThere was a sketch where schoolboys had different 'professional' qualifications in the form of Blue Peter Badges.
Deleteha ha! Blue Peter badges, the true status symbol of the Sixties!
DeleteAmongst my 1960s jobs, they included International Rescue Pilot (full uniform and JR21 & SWORD Toys), General (Action Man), Spacecraft Ground Controller (Johnny Astro), SPV Driver (Dinky) and Property Developer (Lego and BAYKO)

Deleteha ha, someone had to screw 'em on Brian! I think there were some dangerous and stinky jobs in the Middle Ages! Someone had to empty the cess pit by hand!
DeleteI'm sure I remember a chimney sweep set! Three grey plastic tubes , one with the chimney brush on. Came with (I think) a little dustpan and brush....
ReplyDeleteOr maybe old age is getting the best of me..
Never A Nony! A chimney sweep? Next you'll be telling me there was a coal mining set!
