If you have some Apollo Moon Exploring toys you may have the rectangular silver double reflector gizmo seen here in this blister on Worthpoint.
Well, here's the story of the real thing, the Lazer Ranging Retro Reflector or LRRR. Enjoy!

STOP PRESS!
Kevin has kindly pointed out that the toy is a miniature of the Apollo Seismometer and not the LRRR! Doh! Thanks Kev. I should have gone to Specsavers!
I'm not sure that's the same gadget. The reflector looks like a shop street advertising sign covered in cat's eyes. That gadget looks more like another of the surface experiments, possibly the seismometer?
ReplyDeleteTa Kev! I must have got some space dust in my eye! Post adjusted!
DeleteTut tur Woodsy, get your facts right! The laser gizmo comes with the Airfix Astronauts set, so maybe thats what you were thinking of. Or with the Airfix LEM at least
ReplyDeleteI know. I'm slipping these days! Must me my aging brain!
DeleteI would have put the dish on my AMT Enterprise and the seismometer atop a Space 1999 Eagle model to flesh it out a bit.
