Here is another odd but interesting video from You Tube, explaining how injection moulding machines work. It goes into detail, but is never so complicated that you get lost.
Very interesting indeed, thanks for posting. Here's more on the subject, especially on Pyro Plastics which is also of interest regarding Kleeware / Tudor Rose
I worked for one summer at a crummy little factory in Bridgeport CT in the late 1970s, and wouldn't you know it, I actually got to operate an injection molding machine, making parts for some kitchenware accessory. Dirty and Noisy! But since I was into all things plastic, fascinating to me.
Fascinating! As I get more into backyard Designer Toy culture, I find information like this indispensable. A fellow Toy maker just bought a simple injection moulder from the US and is producing his own classic Star Wars style figures. Having gone down the dead end path of soft vinyl moulding, I'm currently investigating 3D printing as the quality of the consumer model printers is now approaching injection mould finishes.
Thank you, everyone. I am glad the piece was of interest or help to someone. It is truly amazing what interesting, and odd, items can be found on You Tube.
