For the VHS collector in you! Maybe you have one of these at the back of the cupboard!
There's a lot of Disney in here uncomfortably juxtaposed with American video nasties so be warned.

There is no information how to tell common and rare versions of the same film apart. No releasing company or date, which I would think would be important. Are they PAL or US NTSC ? I am assuming the latter, but it is not stated. What about box size - Woodsy has said several times he is just interested in Big Box versions. The author does not seem to know much about these films - there were only 99 puppies in 101 Dalmatians, the total includes the parent dogs Pongo and Perdita. This is not my field, but I would not rely on this article. For a really good book on videos with all sorts of useful information see Shock ! Horror ! Astounding Artwork from the Video Nasty Era, which includes company names, dates, catalogue numbers, and alternative artwork. Great book.
ReplyDeleteI've got Shock Horror Paul, a great book. I've got a lot of video cover art books, its a lost bit of film culture, although someone told me video is on its way back like cassette tapes. You never know!
