This is an odd one. I've never heard of it. Dodo the Kid from Outer Space. A cartoon with the voice talent of one Ed Bishop! Anyone know it?

I have never heard of it or seen it, and I watched everything space at that age.
ReplyDeleteEither it was never shown in the UK, or it was an ITV show, not shown in my region (Yorkshire Television).
Otherwise it's just a figment of Googles imagination.
Like you, I have never heard of this. But it is listed in The Complete Encyclopedia of Television Programs 1947-1971, Volume 1. This says 78 x 30 minute episodes, syndicated 1967 - but that may be in the US. Children's Television: The First Thirty-Five Years, 1946-1981, Part 1: Animated Cartoon Series, also says 5 minutes, US debut 1965. It is described as 'One of the earliest English TV cartoon series distributed in the United States'. Several episodes are on You Tube, and I have just watched one, so it does actually exist. Copyright date is 1965, and it was made in colour.
ReplyDeleteI remember it from the 1970s and I'm in the Yorkshire TV area too. Can't recall the stories but it had a cool theme song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3VKV87FouQ
ReplyDeleteNever heard of nor seen this. So not sure if it hit the airwaves in the US nor how many markets. Still, an interesting short length episode series much like Space Angel which had 260 episodes that ran about 5 minutes each.
