Yesterday was a good day for Charity shop rummaging.
The Missus and me came away with a super bundle of fun.
Football cake toppers, animal playing cards, thee new books based on the Super Powers figures line, a mint magic set and a paperback copy of the first Harry Potter book [I was overly-optimistic about the date but got it anyway. Dated 2000]
I also picked up a 1990 Takara Hasbro 1st Generation Transformers Attack Cruiser.
Some smooth Chinasaurs which remind me of Multiple Toymakers' versions from the 60's.
A Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery board game from 2000
A Scooby Frankenstein and a rubber alien.
Some old plastic furniture
A T.O.M.B Gyro Botz
A Creme Egg car
Cybermen and Santorans
Yatming Fire Chief
Hot Wheels Pepsi Challenger 1977
Matchbox red Hot Rod Jeep
Matchbox GT Gruesome
Corgi Juniors Freeway Chevette
Matchbox Cattle Truck
Matchbox GT Ford Capri
Majorette Yoplait
Hot Wheels 1999 Deuce Roadster
and some stuff we didn't get:
Capsela set
Airfix Cutty Sark
Various old plastic vehicles.
And that was that.
What do you think?
I remember those dinosaurs from when I was a kid. The company was called Timmee toys. Those neon colors make me think maybe they were an 80s re release.Timmme toy dinosaurs are still being made in the U.S. by a company called Victory Buy.The latest batch comes in yellow and Army green.
ReplyDeleteI know Timmee Toys. They once contacted the blog about some space sets, the Galxy Team in fact. I do like those smooth neon dinosaurs. I think Imperial Toys did some dinos too back in the day Brian. Did you have them?
DeleteYes.They are soft rubber with hollow bodies. Are those the ones you're referring to?
DeleteYes. Cheers Brian.
DeleteA smorgasbord of goodies. I like thd look of those Animal cards. I do have lurking in 'the box' a Corgi Creme Egg car (Mattel 1993) from Cadbury World (£1.99) still in its box that I have memory of recieving (maybe its my brother's). Whilst I like the look of a lot of these things (them dinos are very appealing), I wouldn't buy any of it- I'm trying to be a good toad and sticking with Gerry Anderson Dinky, JR21/C21 stuff (ok I'm a naughty toad that buys other stuff aswell). If I started buying everything I liked the look of I'd end up unable to move!
ReplyDeleteI know that instinct Timmy. I spent all my spare cash on collecting Project SWORD toys and unusual C21/JR21 toys in the 90's and noughties. I've some strange C21 stuff like a wooden jigsaw, a Decimal Dominies set and the fabulous plastic Fire Tender, which I really recommend. I've avoided the famous stuff like the TV shows as they're too expensive and there's too many!
DeleteA very nice haul. British charity shops are much better than the ones in NZ - the only kit I ever found was a small Heller car in 1/43rd scale. Nothing like the Airfix Cutty Sark. Also a nice selection of die-casts. What was the red double-decker in the last photo ? Glad you had a good day.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the bus Paul. Could be LLedo. Maybe I should have got the Cutty Sark! I always think that. maybe I should have got something. I call it Charity Shop regret! Its an awful feeling and has lead to many a return trip and even phone calls over the years, where the regret has got too much! ha ha
DeleteA good eye and an excellent days hunting, Woodsy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone. days out like these are little slices of heaven!
