I saw this on an online sale and saved the pic 'cos I SO remember it, plastic meccano or whatever it was called. I never liked the metal stuff but for some reason really took to plastic and I can still feel the torque of the nuts as I tightened them with the plastic spanner. Happy times!
Did you have plastic meccano?
I'm not sure if my primary school didn't have it. I had the metal stuff which I did like, but I preferred Lego.
ReplyDeleteI reckon it is primary school age Kev yeah.
DeleteThats Bayko, deffo not plazzy Meccano. I had a lot of the plastic stuff, which I enjoyed. The metal Meccano never appealed to me, too much effort involved in making something basic. Like Kevin, its Lego every time
ReplyDeleteBayko, Schmayko!
DeleteThe Bayko set I had as a kid was just pieces to build houses, nothing like this. Unless Bayko branched out later, I don't think it is this maker either.
ReplyDeleteI link bayko with building houses too Andy.
DeleteI do not think this is Plastic Meccano, although I am sure I had one or two of the long girders in orange. Most of what I had was by Torro, which I think was NZ made Plastic Meccano. I will send you photos.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul.
