Yep, a Corgi Juniors Chitty Chitty. i think the little cars are Playmates. They're dated 2004. The Carabo is from 1985. The sheriff's car is a 1977 Hot Wheels. By the way, does 'blackwall' refer to these later black wheels without the redline?
The jeep with trailer is from Zee Toys/ Zylmex. It is part of their 1975ish MASH toy line. There's two versions of the packaging. The one with the white cross card has the jeep with the wheels against the card while the other card has a pic of the cast and the jeep in the more traditional on its side position.
Amazing Lance! Thanks so much! MASH! I can't believe it! I adored that show .... 'suicide is painless, it brings on many changes'... you really know your toys!
Blackwall - yes, solid black wheels without any redline or other markings on the tyre part. However, Hot Wheels models can have many different wheel hub designs in different colours. Obsessive Hot Wheels collectors want to collect every possible variation. That is going too far for me.
The Corgi Juniors Chitty is a more recent version from several years back, as they were issued without the figures and there are no holes in the seats which they plugged into. The original toy was a Husky, but became a Corgi Juniors later when the Husky brand was abandoned. (I think Huskys were sold only in Woolworth's.) I bought some original figures from the Husky version on ebay and transplanted them into the newer Corgi Juniors one, and it looks just like an original. It also came with red side wings, with yellow clip-on front and rear ones. (The yellow side wings model came with red clip-on front and rear ones.)
Thanks for that Kid. I wondered if my latest find was a re-issue, its in such good condition! Very detailed description of the differences so thanks for that.
Tufftoys jeep, is that a Corgi Juniors Chitty Chitty? Little cars are a species of Micro Machines or Mega Bloks I think. Carabo is nice too

DeleteThere's no mention of Tufftoys [Tuff tots?] on the Jeep Wote. Just Made in China.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the info Paul. Do you also happen to know when the 1970's anodised dull metal baseplate with the plain HOT WHEELS name ended?
