The U.F.O. View-Master set that featured scenes from the episode, 'Close Up'.
Back in 1970 or so, I still remember picking this up from my local Woolworths, getting it home and popping in my viewer to look at the images. I was particularly impressed with the tracking station model shot (used previously in The Secret Service episode, Hole in One). In fact most of the images are pretty good, although, sadly no shots of Skydiver which does appear at the beginning of the episode.
There's photos of Commander Straker, Paul Foster and Gay Ellis, along with some nice 3-D Lunar Shuttle and Interceptor model shots.
Obviously, the image quality leaves a little to be desired, but still a nice item of vintage U.F.O. merchandise.

My favourite TV Viewmaster reels. Full of great model shots and a spectacular 3D UFO explosion !
ReplyDeleteMish.
Yes, some good photos in there, Mish.
Deletecould you post the pairs of photos so we can recreate the sterovision experience?
ReplyDeleteAn interesting idea, incywebb, but if you really want to experience the 3-D effects it might be easier for you to pick up a set, yourself.;)
DeleteIt's actually not too hard - if you have a pair of the images side by side you can cross your eyes to merge the pictures (like for the magic eye pictures) and effectively do what the viewmaster did
DeleteThe thought of people gazing at my post cross-eyed leaves me with an interesting image in my mind's eye , Incywebb!;D
DeleteMy favourite Viewmaster title too! That tracking station is amazing. And I love Straker handling the filming miniature as a display model!
ReplyDeleteYes, there are some good images, Lewis.
