I always lobed bubble cars.
I always wanted to drive one but never got the chance.
Not even sure if I had a toy one but here are two examples of plastic Isettas.
An Empire Made version.
and the Lincoln version.
Do you like bubble cars?
Anyone got one, toy or real life?

ReplyDeleteI've loved Bubble Cars ever since I was a wee boy. If you type Bubble Cars into my blog's search box, you'll see some of mine. Also type in Nobel 200, which looks a bit like a Bubble Car, but isn't.
ReplyDeleteI'll check out Crivens Kid. I have a mwmory of a completely clear bubble car. Like a glass ball on wheels.
DeleteNever owned a bubble car real or as a model though there was a nice one made by Tri-ang Spot-On.
ReplyDeleteAround 1960 at school we had a music teacher named Mr. Gill who drove a three wheel Isetta which looked like a gold fish bowl, (Gill-Gold Fish- Get It)
But the favorite memory is of Michael Bentine's "It's A Square World" TV show where four wheel Messerschmitt bubble cars were used to recreate the Battle of Britain.
Gill eh, reminds me of McGill of Man in a Suitcase!Wonder if he had music in that isetta? Don't know Its a Square World. I adored Potty Time!
DeleteI had the Spot On die cast as a kid.
ReplyDeleteI draw a semi-autobiographical cartoon strip about the everyday adventures of my wife and I. As it's not actually real life, my wife's car in the strip is a BMW Isetta bubble car, instead of her much more prosaic Nissan Micra!
Sounds like one cool cartoon strip Looey!
DeleteRegarding It's A Square World - did the RAF also have Messerschmitts ? That would have been weird.
ReplyDeleteNo idea about that Paul but I have seen some really cool looking three-wheeler messerschmitt cars.
